Guy Elson lives and breathes fishing almost to obsession. He has fished in the blistering tropics of the South Pacific to the sub-zero conditions of Canada and from the depths of the abyss in New Zealand to the rooftop of the world in the Himalayas. Guy has boated blue marlin twice the size of a man in Guatemala to palm sized piranhas in the wilderness of the Amazon.
In late 2008 Guy made his onscreen debut on a personal project called Rod and a Rucksack — Costa Rica. The show fused elements of travel, wildlife and adventure, captivating audiences across the United States of America and the Caribbean as he travelled through challenging terrain in pursuit of wild fish.
